Christmas Loot came in with 1.0.4/1.0.41 and 1.2.3 and can be found deep underground in a Christmas Box.
As of v1.0.5/1.2.4, presents do not spawn anymore but the loot can be found by digging around in snow biomes. See Collectibles.
