User talk:Gary Koopa
This is Gary_Koopa's talk page. Feel free to ask questions, tell me what needs creating/improving, or suggest projects!
Regarding your last post on my discussion page, please do touch up what you have currently, and I'll see to the elder administrators about adding something. Do keep in mind I cannot arbitrarily add things in to the main page, as it is an important page. Also, are you sure there aren't already guides pages created? I just want to make sure other peoples' toes are being stepped on. For JJX, that is, any pages at all? -2539 Woo 17:34, 6 October 2014 (CEST)
To me, it more or less seems like your Tutorials is more similar to a User's Guide or a Beginner's Guide. No offense, of course, but beside getting down to the precise movement of your hand with videos, I think it's okay the way it is. Your Tutorials are fine, there's nothing wrong with those, just it seems like more of a guide than that of what was basically copied from the Tutorial section of the craftbook. By saying your Tutorials describe strategy make it exactly that, a strategy guide. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not trying to reject you, moreover it's a user project, and not quite a wiki-wide page or project. This is still not my decision however, I have yet to receive authorization or denial from anyone, beside you. You're really quite the only one with any stance on this.
Okay, you know how I said I'm not the one to make the executive decision? Yeah, about that. I'll let you say what you have -2539 Woo 05:35, 7 October 2014 (CEST)
You're right, for now it's not a wiki-wide project, but I'll try to improve it more and eventually it may be much larger, in which case it may be worthy of being on the main page.
I'm not certain, I only create pages based on what is available in new fashions. I don't quite... create templates. It may very well be possible, but do keep in mind that this wiki runs on what I think is... HTML3? It's quite old, and the reason we don't upgrade is because this is the most recent code that can be viewed on all platforms. Or so I've been told, that may have been distorted through time. Anyways, I believe actually keeping up to date with the game is more important, rather than inventing categorization systems that would be filled with empty varibles and such. Also, I'm not entirely sure that's possible, that system is more or less a simplification of what we already have, it just takes less clicks, and as long as people are lazy enough to not actually play the game and collect craftnotes, they have the time to go through a couple extra pages.

I'm not the one to be inventing templates, or adding additional ones to pages. You can still go ahead an experiment that's fine, but whether or not it's to be used on the entire wiki is in question. Also, that's… okay, I suppose. Do keep in mind, that there are pages that would have to be changed radically if this were to be approved and/or implemented, and I'm not the one to make this decision. As I said, you are still free to experiment. -2539 Woo 22:39, 12 October 2014 (CEST)
I've tried using the template you have made and I must say I am very impressed. But I would love the properties of the block or item in question to be customizable when editing. So for instance if there was a certain block that was different to most other blocks, much of the properties won't apply to it. This feature will also help when creating infoboxes for item and mob pages.
I can make an Infobox template that can be used to build infobox templates, or for custom per-page infoboxes if needed. (In the case of that "different" block.)
